Favela Sonha is a grassroots social project
based in the Babilônia favela in Rio de Janeiro’s
South Zone.
Our mission is to support families in vulnerable
situations by providing access to essential
goods such as food, clothing, school supplies,
and medical care — and, above all, to create real
pathways to education, culture, and human
development.
WHAT IS
FAVELA
SONHA?
Babilônia is home to around 7,000 residents,
many of whom face severe economic
challenges.
Favela Sonha was founded by residents of the
community, many of whom were once
supported by social projects themselves, with a
vision to give back, open doors, and ensure that
new generations have real opportunities for
growth.
PARTNER PROJECT –
GLOBALLERS X FAVELA SONHA
Globallers is an international project that merges sports, education, and social mobility for children
and youth in underserved communities worldwide. Since 2023, Favela Sonha and Globallers have
partnered in Babilônia to expand access to sports as a tool for transformation.
What we do together:
Organize football clinics and training focused on inclusion and discipline
Host intercultural exchanges with mentors and international athletes
Donate sports equipment and support families involved in the project
Create an environment where football is more than a game — it’s a path to belonging, selfesteem, and education
